Join the club!
Arcadia Fiction Club is currently open for limited membership--we'd like to keep the club small and the atmosphere intimate. For only $19.95 a year, members will receive 6 novels to read and discuss. There will also be guest moderators, coffee and tea selections, desserts and treats, and lively discussion at every meeting, which is the first Tuesday of every month from October to March starting at 7:00 pm.
The core group met on Sept. 3rd to select the first three books we'll be reading and discussing in October, November and December. These titles are usually available at the store for members to pick up at least two weeks before the meeting. The tentative schedule for this fall - winter season is:
October 7th: Crackpots by Sara Pritchard
November 4th: Roxanna Slade by Reynolds Price
December 2nd: The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells. We may also show the movie version, making it into a snack-and-a-movie night.
JoAnne Miller has graciously volunteered to be the coordinator for our group. She can be reached at jomiller5@aol.com.
You can sign up for the Club either by emailing JoAnne or stopping by the store. There are only 4 slots left so sign up today. We're located at the corner of Second and Locust Streets in downtown DeKalb. Don't worry about the busy construction site--there's still plenty of public parking behind our store.
